Who this module is for
In Poland, DHL Parcel is a common choice for companies that ship many parcels to business customers: the courier collects them from the warehouse, and the recipient gets the parcel at the door or picks it up at a point. If you already have a contract with DHL eCommerce Poland, the module lets you work with it from the platform’s admin panel instead of a separate browser window.
The DHL Parcel module is a paid module, included in the price of rollouts run by Endora. It handles DHL24 domestic shipments in Poland.
Two delivery methods: courier and POP/BOX point
On installation the module adds two entries to the delivery methods catalog, both inactive by default:
| Method | What the buyer sees at checkout |
|---|---|
| DHL courier | Delivery to the order address |
| DHL POP/BOX point | A point search by postcode and a list to choose from |
You activate and price them in the delivery methods section, like any other method, with separate availability in each sales channel. For point delivery the order cannot be placed without choosing a point, and the chosen point is stored with the order.
Shipment, label, protocol and courier
When a shipment is generated, the module creates it in DHL24, fetches the label data straight away and records the link between the shipment in the platform and the shipment on the DHL side. Each shipment in the admin panel offers three actions:
- downloading the label in the type set in the configuration (BLP, LBLP or ZBLP),
- booking a courier to collect the parcels,
- downloading the handover protocol, available once the courier is booked.
You fill in the sender details (name, address, phone and email) once in the settings. They are required for creating labels and booking a courier. The credentials alone are enough, however, for the DHL methods to appear at checkout, so the configuration can be finished before the first shipment.
Tracking without webhooks
DHL24 does not provide public shipment status webhooks for this flow. The module therefore polls DHL for the shipment history at regular intervals and closes the shipment in the platform once it reaches a final status. For you this means two things:
- Nothing needs to be configured on the DHL side for statuses to flow back into the platform. Nor do you need a public address for the carrier to send notifications to.
- A status appears with a small delay, set by the interval between polls, rather than the moment the parcel is scanned.
What to prepare on the DHL side
- A SAP customer number from your contract with DHL eCommerce Poland.
- A DHL24 WebAPI username and password. They are used for courier shipments, labels, tracking and pickup point search.
- A separate API PS (Parcelshop Manager) username and password. They are required for creating shipments to POP/BOX points. These are different credentials from the WebAPI ones.
- A test account. DHL provides the sandbox.dhl24.com.pl environment, and a test SAP number and API credentials are issued by the carrier’s support team.
In the admin panel you choose the mode, sandbox or production, and after saving you test the WebAPI and the API PS connections separately. Passwords are no longer visible in the panel after saving and are stored encrypted. The settings are in the delivery methods section, and access requires the permission for managing DHL Parcel.
DHL Parcel and other carriers
Delivery methods in Endora Commerce come from adapter modules and do not exclude one another. DHL Parcel can run alongside InPost, with InPost parcel lockers and courier, so the buyer chooses the carrier at checkout, and for each sales channel you decide which methods are visible in it. The full list is in the integrations catalog.
