What the integration covers
- Per-channel Insight Tag: each sales channel gets its own tag, switched on independently.
- Mapped conversions: storefront actions (an RFQ submitted, an order placed) map onto conversion IDs from LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
- Only real events map: you can only map actions the platform actually emits; there is no configuration entry for an event that could never fire.
Why mapping real events matters
Campaign optimization only works if the conversions feeding it are real. Mapping against events the platform actually emits, rather than a generic template with entries that never fire, keeps the data LinkedIn’s algorithm optimizes against accurate.
The Insight Tag waits for consent too
The LinkedIn Insight Tag script only loads after a visitor accepts in the consent banner, and only then starts sending events to Campaign Manager. It runs on the same consent mechanism as Meta Ads and Google Tag Manager, so no campaign counts a conversion from a visitor who has not yet accepted cookies.
